The number of teaching days require to be increased to at least 180 as per requirement of the UGC so as to enable the students to feel the academic ambience of the college and cultivate better academic discipline.
As assessment of quality substantially depends on students’ interests it may be explored if in the course of future planning the introduction of courses, adequate course options, strategies for meeting differential needs of mixed-ability groups and student feedback, their progression and support systems could be emphasized. This way student participation in quality assurance could also be ensured.
With the gradual withdrawal of the state government from its funding function the profile of financial administration is bound to change and for this the college may like to involve the public and its alumni and tailor courses and consultancy initiatives to attract funds. It may even plan multi-shift utilization of premises by others who may pay for this facility.
The college may consider introduction of such of computer literacy short term courses as may generate funds for its running and offer reasonable surplus. The college may plan for holding of such events with sponsors as may give some surplus to it. For add-on or extra skills and communication courses, contractual teaching may be resorted to.
The tools and technology of teaching being in a state of constant up-gradation the college may plan for such inputs as give the teachers an edge over others in pedagogical inputs and their delivery system. The teachers may be enriched through minor research projects with the help of the UGC and other funding agencies and may even undertake small pilot projects of local relevance. Inter-disciplinary initiatives in studies may be also attempted. Greater effort may be made for introducing confidence building measures, personality development inputs and for taking up social challenges by the students such as of disaster management and symptoms of social unrest.
